State Senator Tony Munoz (D–Chicago), chairman of the Legislative Diabetes Caucus, is partnering with Saint Anthony Hospital to provide free glucose screenings on Friday, November 14, Illinois Diabetes Awareness Day.
Nearly 50 percent of people living with diabetes don’t know they have the condition, which does not always cause obvious symptoms.
The free screenings will be held at Arturo Velasquez Technical Institute from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Sen. Munoz and Saint Anthony Hospital encourage anyone who is planning on getting screened not to eat anything Friday morning in order to get the most accurate results.
